# What is Claira?

> Claira is an AI document-review layer that runs as a UI extension inside Nuix Discover. It reads, codes and explains documents and writes the results into your Discover fields.

Claira runs as a pane inside the Nuix Discover case you already work in. There is no new platform and no data migration: it uses your Discover fields, your permissions and your security perimeter.

You describe what you are looking for in plain words. Claira turns that into instructions, tries them on a few documents so you can check the reasoning, and then reads the set, writing its calls and reasoning into the fields your team already searches, with a confidence score where the review asks for one.

Around the review itself it runs early case assessments, drafts a Case Context from your documents, builds chronologies and memos with citations, and writes search term families Nuix can import. Your reviewers keep the judgment: Claira’s calls can be checked, explained and exported.
